Student Life in Special Education Programs

The Department of Special Education sponsors activitiies for students in special education programs to support their personal and professional growth.

Student Council for Exceptional Children

The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is the world's oldest and largest professional organization of special education and related services personnel. CEC member benfits include subscriptions to the journals Exceptional Children and Teaching Exceptional Children (especially for practitioners) and reduceed fees for attendance at the national conference, receipt of electonic updates in new developments in the field, participation in online professional development activities, and purchase of special publications. Members may also join one or more divisions in their area of specialization or professional interest; divisions also publish their own journals, hold annual conferences, and prepare specialized publications.

The WVU Student Council for Exceptional Children (SCEC) is a student organization for campus-based undergraduate and graduate students.
