Membership and Responsibilities
Membership shall consist of one elected member from each department and ICDI. Members of the Academic and Student Affairs Committee must hold graduate faculty membership. The charge of the committee shall include, but is not limited to, the following:
a. Initiating, formulating, and implementing minimum standards for all undergraduate and graduate programs in the College.
b. Reviewing program documents before submission to university curricular bodies and/or the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission.
c. Determining graduate faculty membership and conducting triennial reviews thereof.
d. Identifying and selecting faculty members eligible for the Outstanding Teacher Award.
e. Reviewing additions and deletions of all programs and courses.
f. Coordinating library acquisitions.
g. Reviewing the activities of the Center for Student Advising & Records related to undergraduate and graduate students. Reviewing student governance, quality of student life, recruitment, and retention.
h. Maintaining a written summary of pertinent actions and committee member attendance of each meeting. The records will be available to individual members of the Faculty Assembly upon request.
