"We understand that before we can ask others for help, we have to ask ourselves. We need to send out the message that WE believe in what we do." -- Carolyn Atkins, Co-chairperson of the WVU Faculty/Staff Capital Campaign

Atkins Keynotes WVU Kickoff
Carolyn Atkins, professor in the Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology, urged faculty and staff to think about what they believe in and where their commitments lie at the WVU Faculty/Staff Capital Campaign Kickoff at Erickson Center. Atkins urged those present to ask themselves:
Do WE believe in what we do?
Is our workplace important to US?
Do WE value West Virginia University?
Do WE value the University's mission?
"If we do," she continued, "then WE should be among the first to show our commitment." The luncheon was the initial event of this year's annual fund drive among faculty and staff members. Atkins emphasized the importance of every gift, regardless of size, and urged those present to stress participation this year when they returned to their units throughout
the Universty.
