Allen was the installer and operator of the first electroencephalograph instrument for the WVU Medical College. Allen's son, Richard Currey, who wrote Fatal Light, was honored in Charleston this spring at a West Virginia Writer's Conference. Allen, who is supposedly "retired," is busy doing substitute teaching in Montgomery County, Maryland. He recently returned to Parkersburg, WV where he was honored for fifty years of membership as a Shriner.
