Alumni Spring Supper Occasion for Fun and Awards

The HR&E Alumni Association Spring Supper drew a lobby-full of alumni, faculty and students in Percival Hall on the Monday evening before commencement in May. The evening was an occasion for a light dinner, conversation with old and new friends, and awards (both serious and in more light-hearted).

For the fourth year the HR&E Alumni Association invited each of the four academic departments to select their Outstanding Graduate Student. These students received a $100 award from the alumni group, a plaque, and a clock with the College logomark.

The Outstanding Graduate Students for 2002-2003 named that evening were:

  • Tasneem Edmonds, Advanced Educational Studies
  • Jane Lefevre, Educational Theory & Practice
  • T. Anne Hawkins, Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, & Counseling Psychology
  • Shannon Harris and Crystal Hightower, Speech Pathology & Audiology

Following the dinner and more formal awards, spring supper attendees also enjoyed the drawings for a variety of door prizes.

Before they left for the evening, Alumni President Bill Rosier invited participants to mark their calendars for two upcoming alumni events in the fall:

  • Pre-Game Tent Party
Saturday , September 13, outside the WVU stadium (beginning about two hours before kick-off for the WVU vs. Cincinnati game)
  • Homecoming Pre-Game Brunch, Saturday, November 1, in the fourth floor lobby of Allen Hall (beginning about three hours before kick-off for the WVU vs. Central Florida game)
