Governance in the Benedum Collaborative currently involves an array of groups representing the twenty-eight professional development schools (PDSs), West Virginia University, and cross-sections of the public schools and university. These groups work in a variety of ways, on multiple schedules and in multiple organizational structures, to carry out the work of the partnership.

The governance structure includes four major “critical friends” groups that include role-alike professionals who work at the partnering institutions. These include PDS Site Steering Committee Chairs, PDS Teacher Education Site Coordinators, PDS Principals, and WVU Teacher Education Faculty and Liaisons.
