Writing Your Proposal

Writing your proposal is the most vital aspect of the Grant submission process. We have gathered some useful links to assist you in this process. Keep in mind your proposal must be submitted to the WVU Office of Sponsored Programs five days before the actual proposal deadline. Also, be sure to check with the WVU Office of Research Compliance, especially if you are planning on working with human subjects or animal research.

-The WVU OSP Proposal Preparation Page is a robust resource that includes a grant proposal guide, example "short courses" on proposal development, current F&A (indirect) and Fringe rates, etc.
-The Foundation Center has developed a Proposal Writing Short Course that you may find helpful.
-Science Magazine Next Wave published a series of articles entitled "How not to kill a grant application." They contain a wealth of information that's easy to read.
-The Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance-Developing and Writing Grant Proposals page is a very complete and easy to understand resource.
- WVU "At A Glance" Information Page will help provide any information you may need about "the requesting institution" (WVU).
